O Cherry Pick Porto 2016 é a primeira edição de um projecto embrionário e ambicioso do NEI-ISEP - a realização de três dias preenchidos com palestras, tech-talks, workshops, demonstrações de tecnologias, gadgets e networking destinado a todos os estudantes aficionados pela Informática e Novas Tecnologias, a decorrer nos dias 28, 29 e 30 de Maio no Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP).
O nome "Cherry Pick" surge da funcionalidade da ferramenta Git, que consiste em transferir um commit seleccionado para um novo branch. Usando esta analogia informática, pretendemos que este evento consista na "seleção" daquilo que de melhor ocorre no mundo da informática e na "transferência" destes conhecimentos, de forma acessível para os estudantes. Nasce assim o nosso slogan, "Pick Knowledge!".
O Núcleo de Estudantes de Informática do Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (NEI-ISEP) é um núcleo criado por estudantes de Engenharia Informática no ISEP que pretende, principalmente, enriquecer a experiência académica da comunidade estudantil deste Instituto a nível da Informática, das TIC e das Novas Tecnologias.
A missão do NEI-ISEP assenta em quatro pilares fundamentais, sendo eles o cultivo de um espírito de comunidade e entre-ajuda entre estudantes, Alumnis e Empresas; o estabelecimento de fortes ligações com o mercado empresarial; propor experiências enriquecedoras associadas às nossas áreas de intervenção (através da organização de eventos, palestras, workshops ou outras actividades); protecção e apoio dos interesses de todos os estudantes de áreas afiliadas à Informática no ISEP, em prol de uma melhor e mais justa formação académica.

Nasceu a 5 de janeiro de 1970, em Vila Nova de Gaia.
Licenciou-se em Direito pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Coimbra, em 1994.
Exerceu advocacia como profissional liberal entre 1996-1998. Trabalhou como jurista no Grupo Amorim, entre 1998 e 2002, período em que dirigiu o Departamento de Contencioso, integrado no Gabinete Jurídico e Fiscal da Holding Amorim, Serviços e Gestão, SGPS, SA.
Estudou Administração Hospitalar na Escola Nacional de Saúde Publica, da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, entre 2004 e 2006.
Trabalha na Área da Saúde desde 2006, tendo exercido o cargo de Diretora do Serviço de Gestão de Doentes no Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia / Espinho, EPE (CHVNG), entre 2006 e 2010 e de Diretora do Centro de Ambulatório do CHVNG entre 2007 e 2011. Atualmente Diretora do Gabinete de Gestão Assistencial do CHVNG.
Nasceu a 18 de abril de 1982, em Barcelos.
Licenciou-se em Economia, pela Faculdade de Economia do Porto, em 2005.
Estudou Controlo de Gestão e Avaliação da Performance, na Escola de Gestão do Porto – Porto Business School e iniciou o seu percurso profissional em 2005, com o Estágio Planeamento e Informação para a Gestão, no Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia/Espinho, EPE (CHVNG).
Em 2006 integra o projeto Controlo de Gestão – Área Hospitalar, do Centro de Estudos da Escola de Gestão do Porto. Entre 2008 e 2010, fez o Curso de Especialização em Administração Hospitalar, na Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública, da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
No CHVNG, integrou entre 2007 e 2009 o Gabinete de Planeamento e de Informação para a Gestão, entre 2009 e 2012 o Conselho Diretivo da UGI do Tórax e Circulação e da UGI de Urgência e Intensivismo. Atualmente, é Membro do Conselho Diretivo da UGI de Anestesiologia, Medicina Intensiva, Urgência e Emergência e do Gabinete de Gestão Assistencial.

He has been developing mobile applications for 6 years and enterprise applications for the last 3. He developed his first mobile enterprise application during his Masters in Informatics and Computer Engineering at University of Porto and is working at Critical Manufacturing since 2013.He currently leads the amazing team of engineers and designers working on the new MES interface and is part of the Critical Manufacturing MES’s core development and support team.
When he is not working you can find him volunteering for IEEE as Portugal Section Vice-Chair or playing tuba at several music ensembles in north Portugal.
Started studying Software Engineering in Minho University in 2005.
Started working at CSide, a home automation and telemetry company while studying.
Later went to Farfetch were she worked at two team, Fast Track and Performance. The first is a reactive team, a lot like a fire department to applications and issues in production and the second that helps to ensures the quality of the applications that go into production. After that came to Mindera were she works now as a Software Engineer.
Luís Franqueira is a Mobile Quality Assurance Engineer @ Mindera.
He had his first contact with Software Testing and Agile in 2013. He is a somehow experienced Agile Software Tester. He his passionate about Software Testing, Agile, Scrum and everything related to delivering quality products to the final customer.
Filipe Barroso an Android developer and Google Developer Group Organizer. Started out as a freelancer, his first big gig was a mobile project business application for Portugal Telecom, then decided to accept a new challenge at Wingman to have the opportunity to work for clients such as Bayer, Brisa, and TAP.

I'm a graduated software developer in Computer and Telematics Engineering at the University of Aveiro. After that, I've been working in security applications, telecommunications systems and in the financial area. A lover of agile methodologies, passionate about innovation, new tech's and startups, I was one of the winners of a worldwide entrepreneurship contest, the entrepreneurial spirit is part of me, that had led me to the Google headquarters and attend the Launch Festival to demonstrate and pitch about a project that I was idealized, and worked for 2 years.
A sports enthusiast and an overall adventurer! Having been linked in the past at all levels to basketball, first as a player and coach, later as a national referee.
João started his Agile journey in 2009 first by reading books and watching talks, he soon realised that he was not alone on his thoughts when doing software project management “Why I need to do things this way if this doesn’t work”. The more I learned about Agile the more I wanted to move to an Agile Company and get involved in the Agile community. And I did it first by trying to implement the Agile principles on the current team and then moving to Agile companies, at the same time, I get involved in the community, helping to organize the Agile Portugal conferences, I’m now part of the core group.
In Farfetch, João fosters Agile principles, values and practices,ensuring that they are fully understood and followed at both levels: development team and Ftech department. He is also responsible for improving team engagement and motivation, in order to have them delivering more and with more quality at a healthy pace and to create the right environment to allow teams to be more creative and innovative.
As the Agile Coaches’ manager, he belongs to the teach leadership team, being responsible of managing the Agile coaches team, providing guidance and ensuring that agile practices are applied coherently among them.
I graduated in Computer Engineering from FEUP (Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto) and from Cranfield University (UK). My first work experience was in the field of information systems. Later, I decided to become a mobile developer and moved to WIT Software (Coimbra and Porto). After almost 3 years as an iOS developer, I started a new challenge at Farfetch.
Luís Calado is a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft Portugal where he is responsible for cloud evangelism and leading the area, in Portugal, regarding support initiatives for the Startup ecosystem. He has a degree in Computer Science and he works in the IT industry for 20 years. Beyond Microsoft he is also a passionate developer, photographer and cooker.
Hélder Quintela é atualmente Diretor de Produtos e Soluções na JP-inspiring knowledge, na unidade de negócio de Educação. Anteriormente foi Diretor de Desenvolvimento de Software na unidade de produtos de Business and Management da ALERT Life Sciences Computing, S.A., onde foi também Gestor de Produto de Healthcare Business Intelligence: ALERT® BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE.
É mestre em Sistemas de Informação pela Universidade do Minho desde 2005, e atualmente está a desenvolver projeto de Doutoramento na área de Big Data. Regularmente participa como orador em conferências e workshops relacionados com Business Intelligence, sendo colaborador da revista esaude – Magazine de Sistemas de Informação para a Saúde e da revista One World nas temáticas de BI. Integra também grupos de interesse na área dos Sistemas de Informação para a Saúde relacionados com Certificação e Healthcare Business Intelligence.
Ao longo da sua carreira Hélder Quintela tem colaborado com Instituições de Ensino Superior (Universidade do Minho, Porto Business School, Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, Instituto Politécnico do Porto, ISLA) na lecionação de disciplinas de Graduação e Pós-Graduação em áreas como Arquitetura de Software, Business Intelligence, Gestão de Projeto, Sistemas de Informação.
I’m graduated in Health Information Sciences by the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and I’m finishing a master degree in Information and Knowledge Systems at ISEP.
I’ve more than 10 years of experience in a lot of areas.
I believe that the cutting-edge technologies have opened up new ways to make our lives more easy and comfortable. At this moment, the sky (for now) is the limit.
I’m always trying to find the next big thing.
Hugo believes he’s one of the few lucky people that can say he worked very few days in his life... not because of lack of a job (fortunately), but because when you do stuff you love and you're passionate about almost every single day, there's no boundary between what's work and what's just pure fun.
He completed his PhD in Electrical and Computers Engineering at the Univeristy of Lisbon. Since 2004, Hugo is a researcher at the IT - Instituto de Telecomunicações. Hugo is also one of the co-founders of PLUX – Wireless Biosignals, established in 2007 as an innovative technology-based company operating in the field of medical devices for healthcare and quality of life, where Hugo is currently a Board Member and Innovation Advisor.
More recently, he has been actively working (i.e. having fun) towards making the world a bit more physiological, through BITalino, an open source software and low-cost hardware toolkit, that allows anyone from students to professional app developers, to create cool projects and applications with physiological sensors. His main interest areas include physiological computing (aka biosignals), system engineering, signal processing, and pattern recognition.
A strong believer that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42 who has been developing mobile applications for 5 years now. I’ve first met Android during my master’s thesis at the University of Coimbra, Portugal - it was a rough start (although way better than Java ME); Cupcake was still on an early stage but since then we’ve come a long way and it is now a breeze developing for Lollipop - with an extraordinary new (material) design. During this path I've developed for an entire year for the iPhone/iPad and although I’m once again an Android advocate I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed working with iOS, specially for its well defined MVC architecture, well crafted components and actions and of course only need to test the application on a handful set of devices.
Working at WIT Software I have been developing several applications - first on the energy consumption field - where I've developed an energy monitorization and control application for Android devices and for the past four I've been developing RCSe applications (messaging, VoIP, etc. services) both for the Android and iOS platforms - https://www.wit-software.com/products/rcs-suite/
Consultor de segurança da informação e instrutor na área de segurança, redes e sistemas. Entusiasta de segurança, particularmente no desenvolvimento de exploits, realização de auditorias segurança, testes de intrusão e análise forensic.
Com especial interesse em Penetration Testing, Redteam, tecnologias Open-Source, descoberta de vulnerabilidades e técnicas de bypass antivirus e sistemas de detenção/prevenção de intrusões.
Nasci no Porto, na Ordem do Terço, no dia 4 de Julho de 1979.
Vivi em Viana do Castelo desde a minha infância até aos 18 anos, altura em que ingressei na Licenciatura em Engenharia de Sistemas e Informática na Universidade do Minho (no ano de 1997). Fiz o projecto final de curso com 19 valores com o tema “Monitorização de Eventos e Aplicação de Planos de Contingência em processos SETI (Selecção, Extracção, Transformação e Integração - Sistemas de Data Warehousing)”. Durante o último ano do curso tive a oportunidade de ser Docente (Monitor) do Departamento de Produção e Sistemas (lecionei a cadeira semestral de Investigação Operacional I ao 4º ano de Engenharia Biológica e ao 4º ano de Matemática e Ciências da Computação). Por fim fiz o estágio curricular na Microsoft Corporation em Portugal com 18 valores com o tema “Administração Remota de uma Active Directory” (para além de ter feito parte do Product Support Service). Terminei então o curso, com aprovação em todos os anos, com uma média final de 14,44 valores.
Ingressei posteriormente na Accenture, em Abril de 2003, empresa onde tenho estado desde então, sempre na área de Financial Services, em projectos de implementação de sistemas em diversos clientes da banca nacional. Relativamente à minha maneira de estar no trabalho posso salientar que procuro sempre ter um comportamento profissional adequado, integridade, uma atitude positiva e participativa, proactividade, disponibilidade na entreajuda para com os colegas e partilha de conhecimento. Para tal preciso também de demonstrar diariamente capacidade de investigação e de raciocínio analítico, possuir um conhecimento funcional, possuir capacidade de aprendizagem e adaptação a novas situações, criatividade, capacidade de organização e planificação das tarefas desempenhadas de modo a cumprir os timmings estabelecidos, comprometer-me com os resultados da equipa onde me encontro, facultar pontos de situação proactivamente e de forma periódica, ter capacidade de comunicação oral e escrita.
As características pessoais adicionais que posso salientar são: organização, pontualidade, perfeccionismo, trabalho em equipa, optimismo e boa disposição.
Como hobbies gosto de cozinhar, de fotografia e, quando tenho tempo, fazer umas corridas para manter a forma.

Iniciou a sua aventura na informática há cerca de 14 anos quando recebeu o seu primeiro computador e quis perceber como este funcionava. Trabalhou como freelancer em que o trabalho desenvolvido que mais se destaca é o ControlBikePark: um sistema de gestão de um parque de bicicletas com leitura de impressão digital com um backoffice para consulta de estatísticas sobre o estado do mesmo. Desenvolveu extensões para o Chrome e Firefox, entre as mais conhecidas, o Social Unlocker e o Ahoy!.
Rafael is still an engineering student and is already co-founding a startup developing Newton.ai.
At age 21 developed a complex system to retrieve and cross-reference public profiles from different social networks. With the same structure he was able to get relevant user information of over 3 million profiles. He adapts to different programming languages and is on top of the data-mining technology.
